MY FATHER LEGACY

For several weeks my mother, Luba, had told me that we need to go to Argentina to visit them, especially my father, he was not ok. He had some health problems that brought him to the hospital for about three weeks, at that moment we didn’t have money for the trip (36 hours by bus) and I told my mother that we will put it in prayer.

It passed about one month when in July 05 we received a donation of 300 dollars and the next day Friday, July 06 we received a call from my mother that my father had  his blood pressure in 50/30 and the doctors said that he will not pass the day. We were so thankful to God for providing. That next day, Saturday evening we left in urgency to Argentina, to see my father. And because my father had an apparently recover, Miguel and I had the hope to see him alive.  We’ll be arriving  approximately Monday, July 09 at 9:00 am to my parents house, but Sunday night during our trip we received the bad news from my mother, that my 85 years old father was passed to rest.

Luba and Arturo Dupertuis (my parents) and myself.

We spent in Argentina with my mother almost 2 months helping her to get well . My father was an example for me, a missionary, a peacemaker, and a meekness man . In 1981 the family had a great lost, my brother Edgardo passed away at the age of 20. This devastated my family special my father. and from then he preached the Second Coming of Jesus with a new energy , enthusiasm and hope. Until the last week of his life he was preaching to everybody that Jesus is coming soon!

This is the Legacy that my father left me because he accepted the Bible as a revelation from Heaven.  The Soon Return of Jesus and the Resurrection are the most wonderful promises that I found in the Bible.

He Is Risen . We read it in Matthew 28.

And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.  His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.  And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.  And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you” (Matthew 28:2-7).

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Jesus promises that will return again.

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also”  (John 14: 1-3).

The Comfort of Christ’s Coming. It’s found in 1 Thessalonians 4.

“13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words”  (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

The Resurrection of the Dead. We are mortals, 1 Corinthians 15 talks about it.

” 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” 55 Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory? ”  (1 Corinthians 15: 51-55).

The only Immortal Being is God. There is only one verse in the Bible that says the word immortality and it’s found in 1 Timothy 6.

“… He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen”  (1 Timothy 6:15-16).

New Heaven and New Earth. It will be our new home, we found it in Revelation 21.

” And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away”  (Revelation 21:4).

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age. The disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? … and Jesus answered them in Matthew 24.

” 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” ( Matthew 24: 3-14).

The Coming of the Son of Man

” 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other” (Matthew 24: 29-31).

The Parable of the Fig Tree

” 32 Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away” (Matthew 24: 32-35).

No One Knows the Day or Hour

” 36 But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect” (Matthew 24: 36-44).

” To the believer, death is but a small matter. Christ speaks of it as if it were of little moment. “If a man keep My saying, he shall never see death,” “he shall never taste of death.” To the Christian, death is but a sleep, a moment of silence and darkness. The life is hid with Christ in God, and “when Christ, who is
our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.” John 8:51, 52; Colossians. 3:4.
The voice that cried from the cross, “It is finished,” was heard among the dead. It pierced the walls of sepulchers, and summoned the sleepers to arise. Thus will it be when the voice of Christ shall be heard from heaven. That voice will penetrate the graves and unbar the tombs, and the dead in Christ shall arise” (The Desire of Ages, p. 787).

What a merciful God we have!
